December 2007

Very recently I was shown a great documentary about a father and son who completed over 200 marathons and an Ironman (2.5 miles swim, 112 miles on a bike followed by a marathon - yes 26.2 miles on top!!!)
If you have ever attempted anything like this, you know how exhausting these events are.. If you don't you are very welcome to join us..
What made the documentary so special was that that father has a heart condition and the son is very severely disabled. This means his father pushes him along the course of every event
.
Something struck me after hearing this story.... If they can do it and raise money for charities and help others, so can I together with 'the gang'.
If anyone wants to train, or even take part in any of the events with us or suggest any nice runs - let us know - a few of us usually take part and there are always people watching so - FEEL FREE TO JOIN OUR AKUNA TEAM!!

In London we raised £800 for Disabled Children's Charity GET KIDS GOING! It was a fantastic event and raising money for the Kids made it even more special...
